For over 30 years the community has tried to preserve Hamilton Marsh.  Two earlier attempts fell through – once with owners MacMillan Bloedel, and the second with Island Timberlands in the early 2000’s.

The first two attempts were for the wetland and a generous buffer – but THIS time it’s for the entire 360 hectares.

The only reason we have access via trails and the dock is due to a land use agreement between MacMillan Bloedel and School District 69 – to use it as an outdoor classroom
